Malaysia’s Olympic team lost 0-2 to Syria in a Group C Asian Zone Olympic Qualifier at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium, Wednesday night (23/11/11).

The national team played well and the crowd gave excellent support even though the team could not match the Syrians in the second half. This could be due to fatigue as the team had just returned from Indonesia and only had two hours of practice.

Malaysia defended their gold medal when they defeated Indonesia 5-4 on penalties in the final of the 26th SEA Games football tournament at the Utama Gelora Bung Karno Stadium, in Jakarta, Monday night (21/11/11).

Malaysian's winning goal in the penalty shoot-out came through team captain Baddrol Bakhtiar when the two countries were tied 4-4 after Ferdinan Sinaga's penalty kick was blocked by Khairul Fahmi Che Mat.

The defeat squashed the hope of Indonesian squad under Rahmad Darmawan to collect gold after their last football gold in 1991.

Malaysia akan bertemu tuan rumah Indonesia pada perlawanan akhir bola sepak Sukan SEA ke-26 apabila berjaya menewaskan Myanmar 1-0 pada separuh akhir yang berlangsung di Stadium Gelora Bung Karno, Sabtu (19/11/11).

Indonesia layak selepas mengatasi naib juara temasya 2009, Vietnam 2-0. Gol-gol Indonesia dijaringkan oleh Patrich Wanggai dan Titus Bonai.

Perlawanan akhir akan berlangsung di Stadium Gelora Bung Karno Isnin (21/11/11), pukul 7 petang waktu tempatan (8 malam waktu Malaysia).

Jaringan pemain gentian, Syahrul Azwari Ibrahim sudah cukup untuk memastikan pasukan negara menewaskan Indonesia 1-0 pada perlawanan terakhir Kumpulan A Sukan SEA ke-26 di Stadium Gelora Bung Karno di Jakarta Khamis (17/11/11).

Dengan kemenangan ini pasukan bawah 23 tahun negara akan bertemu Myanmar di separuh akhir Sabtu nanti.

Kemenangan itu menyaksikan Malaysia memintas pendahulu kumpulan A, Indonesia, dengan kelebihan satu mata untuk muncul juara kumpulan dengan memungut 10 mata.

Malaysia defeated Laos 4-1 to collect full points in a Group F match of the AFC U-19 2012 Qualifying Tournament at the Thong Nhat Stadium in Ho Chi Minh City on Wednesday (2/11/11).

Defending champion, Korea DPR also collected full points when they defeated Myanmar 2-1.

Vietnam is hosting the Group F Qualifying tournament which is participated by Malaysia, Laos, Myanmar and defending champion, DPR Korea.

PETALING JAYA (31 October 2010): To ensure no disruption to the preparations of the Malaysian team competing in the Jakarta SEA Games next month, the organising committee of the 100PLUS-Astro Arena-FAM National Football Awards 2011 have decided to reschedule the annual awards ceremony to November 30th.

Malaysia held host Vietnam to a scoreless draw in the opening match of the AFC U-19 2012 Group F Qualifiers at the Thong Nhat Stadium in Ho Chi Minh City Monday (31/10/11).

Malaysia had to play most of the second half with 10 players after Muhammad Nazmi Mansor had to leave the pitch after receiving his second yellow card in the match.
