Astro Arena and Utusan Malaysia Collaborate to Promote Malaysian Football

30 Apr 2013 – Astro Arena today signed a memorandum of understanding with Utusan Malaysia to promote, strengthen and develop Malaysian football. The signing ceremony at Wisma FAM was attended and represented by both Mr Fuaad Kenali, Chief Financial Officer of Astro together with Datuk Mohd. Nasir Ali, Group Executive Director of Utusan Melayu (M) Bhd.

Rajagobal did not criticize FAM

THE FA of Malaysia's (FAM) disciplinary board (DB) opted against taking any action against National Chief Coach Datuk K. Rajagobal who was found not to have made any statement that could be deemed as criticising the national body or its policies.

The DB, at its meeting Wednesday (24 April 2013), heard audio evidence and was satisfied that Datuk Rajagobal's comments, made after Malaysia were beaten 4-1 by Saudi Arabia in a friendly last month, were not critical of FAM's policy on foreign players featuring in the M-League.

FA CUP: Pahang, Kelantan, Terengganu and Darul Takzim in semi-finals

PAHANG ended the gallant run of Premier League side Sime Darby as the east coast outfit joined defending champions Kelantan, Terengganu and Darul Takzim in the FA Cup semi-finals  Tuesday (16/4/13).

The tournament will see three east coast sides in the last-four stage for the first time since Terengganu's win in 2011.

Harimau Muda Must Defend Gold Medal

KUALA LUMPUR (12 April 2013) – The intention was clear and Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah, the president of the FA of Malaysia (FAM), said in no uncertain terms this week that the Harimau Muda squad must deliver the SEA Games gold medal at the end of the year.

MOVING FORWARD

The M-Leaque will be privatized in 2016. The FA of Malaysia (FAM) Exeucitice Committee made the following recommendations at its meeting in Kuala Lumpur, Wednesday (10/4/13). 

FAM vice president Datuk Hamidin Mohd Amin has been given the mandate by president Sultan Ahmad Shah to head the league's privatisation committee.

The committee, comprising representatives from the national body, National Sports Council and other concerned parties, will work closely with the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) towards outsourcing the league.

HRH Sultan Ahmad awarded the ASEAN Goodwill Award

Asean Football Federation (AFF) President, HRH Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah, was awarded the ASEAN Goodwill Award at the inaugural AFF Awards 2013 ceremony in Kuantan, last night (Wednesday, 3 April 2013).

Sultan Haji Ahmad, who is also the President of the FA of Malaysia, received the award for his outstanding acts and gestures of goodwill and fairplay through football.

NATIONAL Coach to Make Changes

The absence of several regulars due to prior commitments and injuries allowed Rajagobal to hand his reserves their first start.

However, playing in front of a 25,000 crowd, the novices were visibly nervous which allowed Palestine to score in each half in the match for charity.

Losing patience with the below-par performance of his players, Rajagobal believes it is high time to inject new blood into the side and prepare the team for future assignments.
