BAHRAIN 2 MALAYSIA 1

Manama: Malaysia remained without a point after four games in Group C of the third round of Asian qualifiers for the 2012 Olympics after the 2011 SEA Games gold medallists went down 2-1 to Bahrain on Sunday (5/02/12).

Mohamed Tayed Al Alawi gave the home side a 25th minute lead only for subsitute Ahmad Hazwan Bakri, a 76th replacement for Negeri Sembilan striker Ahmad Shakir, to equalise with five minutes left to play

But the home side were not to be denied their second Group C win with midfielder Hussain Farhan sealing the win three minutes later before Malaysia's disappointing night was compounded with the sending off of Wan Zac Haikal Wan Noor five minutes into second-half stoppage-time.
