Winning start for Young Tigers
The Harimau Muda team got off to winning start in their S-League debut when they defeated Gombak United FC 2-0 at the Jalan Besar Stadium in Singapore, Thursday (9/2/12).
A. Thamil Arasu opened accounts for the national Under-23 side in the 15th minute before Wan Zaharulnizam Zakaria increased the lead in the 82nd minute.
The Malaysian team, under coach Ong Kim Swee, could have won by a bigger margin if not for their poor finishing in front of goal. Midfielder Gary Steven Robbat also had a chance to put his name on the score sheet but his goal-bound shot deflected off a defender in the 75th minute.
