Defending champions SMK Tunku Anum of Kedah fell to their first defeat of the season when their unbeaten run was shattered 1-0 on Saturday by SMK Seri Kota of Melaka in Group A of the Under-14 Minister of Education League Cup (MELC) 2011.
Playing in their ninth game of the group round, the northerners have been in fine form since their loss (to SMK Bukit Nenas of Terengganu) in the Charity Shield at the start of the season where in the last eight matches, they have scored a total of 20 goals as against conceding just four goals.
But this time, they found it hard against a dogged SMK Seri Kota defence and where in their frustration, allowed the home team to score the only goal of the game off Muhamma Hazim Razali in the 59th minute.
