Indonesia Knock Out Defending Champs Malaysia

NAYPYITAW -  Indonesia reigned supreme in the penalty shootout in this evening’s semifinal clash against Malaysia at the Zayar Thiri Stadium to destroy the defending champions’ hopes of winning their third successive SEA Games gold medal.

FAM To Conduct Post-mortem

NAYPYITAW -  The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) secretary-general Dato’ Hamidin Mohd Amin said a post-mortem would be conducted to find out why the futsal team performed badly at the 27th Myanmar SEA Games.

"We prepared well for the competition and played in many international tournaments but failed to qualify for the semifinals despite undergoing intensive training.

Malaysia 2-1 Vietnam

NAYPYITAW – Defending champions Malaysia advanced to the semi-finals of the men’s football after defeating Vietnam 2-1 in their final Group A match at the Zayar Thiri Stadium, Tuesday.

The Malaysians only needed a point while Vietnam had to win to make the last four.

The Vietnamese went flat out in search of the goals to destroy Malaysia where they created numerous chances but were either stopped by the hardworking Malaysian defenders or by goalkeeper Mohd Izham Tarmizi Roslan.

Celebrations on hold

ONG Kim Swee should have been celebrating his 43rd birthday Wednesday and got a cold shower instead from his players.

The national youth coach has postponed all celebrations to Dec 21, the day of the men's Sea Games football final, in the hope Malaysia will complete a hat-trick of gold medals.

Nazmi, Thamil impressive

NAZMI Faiz Mansor, A. Thamil Arasu, K. Reuben and Rozaimi Abdul Rahman have caught the eye of FC Ryukyu manager Norihiro Satsukawa following the quartet's impressive performance in the national Under-23 team's 3-1 win over the Japanese outfit in Kelana Jaya on Wednesday

"They were very impressive today (Wednesday). Rozaimi and Thamil Arasu are quality strikers while Nazmi's vision and passing is exceptional," said Satsukawa.

Skuad Malaysia B23 mendapat suntikan semangat sebelum memulakan perjuangan pada Sukan SEA 2013 di Myanmar minggu depan.

Rabu, mereka tampil bergaya untuk menewaskan FC Ryukyu 3-1 pada aksi persahabatan di Stadium Majlis Bandaraya Petaling Jaya (MBPJ) dan ia dianggap sebagai pencetus semangat sebelum mereka berlepas ke bumi Myanmar.

Penyerang Harimau Muda A, Md Rozaimi Abd Rahman muncul wira pasukan apabila berjaya meledak dua gol pada perlawanan tersebut.

No Regrets

DATUK K. RAJAGOBAL has no regrets as he prepares to bid farewell to the FA of Malaysia (FAM), and the outgoing national coach recalled the good times, paid tributes and disclosed his plans in an emotional press conference in Kelana Jaya , Monday

The former international believes he has set a benchmark for the incoming national coach as winning the AFF Cup and Sea Games gold should not be future targets.
