His Royal Highness visit Football Federation of Cambodia (FFC)

His Royal Highness Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah, the President of Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) will visit the Kingdom of Cambodia from 24 to 26 March 2011.

During the vist His Royal Highness will pay a courtesy call to the Football Federation of Cambodia (FFC) in Phnom Penh and have discussions with FFC President, General Sokha Sao and senior leaders of the federation on closer cooperation between the two national associations.

Blatter confident of another term

FIFA president Dato’ Sri Joseph S. Blatter is confident that he will retain his presidency for another term, which is likely to be his last as head of football’s governing body.

Dato’ Sri Blatter,  who was in Kuala Lumpur for a one-day working visit, said he needs another four years to continue his agenda in developing football around the world. He has been at the FIFA helm for 13 years.

Terengganu wins Charity Trophy

Terengganu raised the season-opening Charity Trophy in the Minister of Education League Cup (MELC) when they sensationally defeated reigning champions Kedah 2-1 at the Mini Stadium SMK Tengku Anum Tunku Abdul Rahman in Alor Setar, Sunday.

The visitors sank the host hopes of a dream start in a four-minute blitz in the first half of a closely contested game.

Under-16 and 15 teams to train in Slovakia

Slovakia has invited FA of Malaysia (FAM) to send the National Under-15 and Under-16 squad for training and to participate in their youth league next year.

FAM deputy president KDYTM Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah said the offer was made in recognition of Malaysia winning the AFF-Suzuki Cup last year.

4.5 slots for Asia in 2014 FIFA World Cup

Asia will continue to have the 4.5 berths places reserved for the continent in the 2014 FIFA World Cup, to be held in Brazil.

The decision was confirmed by the FIFA Executive Committee which met in Zurich, Thursday. The 4.5 places or berths is the same distribution of slots as for the 2006 and 2010 FIFA World Cups. 

100PLUS Extends Partnership For Three More Years

100PLUS, Malaysia’s number one isotonic drink, has extended their sponsorship for the Minister of Education League Cup (MELC) for another three years.

100PLUS, a long-time supporter of youth football development programmes, was the main sponsor for the MELC for the first three years of the programme from 2008 to 2010.

In football, names can be of clubs, teams, players and other personalities associated with the sport of football. Fans follow the “big” names without actually knowing the team or persons.
