I come before you as a protagonist of 1ASEAN, appealing to each one of you my brothers in football, to reignite the flame of ASEAN solidarity and lift this spirit above our own frailties and agendas, and let it soar to heights we have yet to scale

Cungkil bakat baru di akar umbi - PM

Persatuan bolasepak di seluruh negara perlu berusaha mencungkil bakat-bakat baru di peringkat akar umbi, kata Perdana Menteri Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

“Usaha untuk mencungkin bakat baru haruslah dilaksanaka secara bersepadu dan menhyeluruh supaya melahirkan pemain bolasepak bertaraf dunia.

Jawatankuasa Pertandingan Tempatan FAM telah meluluskan permohonan Persatuan Bolasepak Pahang (PBNP) untuk menggunakan Stadium Darul Makmur di Kuantan sebagai gelanggangnya sehingga penghujung bulan Mei.

Naib Presiden PBNP Datuk Dr Omar Othman berkata, pihaknya mengemukakan permohonan tersebut kerana kerja-kerja menaik taraf stadium berkenaan akan hanya dimulakan pada Jun.

Malaysia faces Chinese Taipei in 1st Round

Malaysia will face Chinese Taipei in the first round of Asian qualifiers for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

The national team will play Chinese Taipei away on June 29 and at home on July 3. And waiting in the next round is Singapore.

“All opponents should be respected,” said Chief Coach K.Rajagobal after the draw held at AF Headquarters in Kuala Lumpur, Wednesday.

Olympic Round 2: Malaysia vs Lebanon

Malaysia has a “good” chance of reaching the third round of 2012 London Olympics men’s football tournament after being pitted against Lebanon in one of the few interesting match-ups at the draw conducted at the AFC House in Kuala Lumpur, Wednesday.

Another interesting battle to come out of the draw was between arch-rivals Iraq, who made it to the semi-finals of the 2004 Athens Olympics, and Iran who reached the quarter-finals of the 1976 games in Montreal.

U-19 boys in tough group

Malaysia has been drawn into a relatively tough Group F with defending champions, DPR Korea in the AFC U-19 qualifying Championship.

The other teams in Group F are Vietnam, Myanmar and Laos.

Meanwhile Japan’s quest for their maiden AFC U-19 Championship crown will see them cross swords against fellow East Asian giants and 11-time winners Korea Republic in the qualifiers.

Malaysia with DPR Korea for U-16 qualifiers

Malaysia was drawn into Group E together with defending champions DPR Korea, China, Timor Leste, Singapore and Macau for the 2012 AFC U-16 qualifiers.

In the draw held at the AFC House in Kuala Lumpur Wednesday, Central Asian neighbors Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan found themselves in the same group in the AFC U-16 Championship 2012 qualifiers.
